Hope

On a warm Monday morning, Alex Park was preparing to walk the stage. She was the most exciting, smart, and kind person you ever met. While she was getting ready, a weird fluffy white cloud appeared. That cloud had a little person on it. Alex jumped by its sudden appearance. The little person looked relaxed while Alex was pinching herself to make sure she wasn’t dreaming. “What a nice day to graduate!” the little person said. Alex head rushed with questions. Since Alex zoned out she didn’t know she was standing right in front of her face. “The name is Hope” the little person said with confidence. Alex walked into the kitchen and was greeted by a strong smell of coffee. Mrs.Park jumped in excitement seeing her nineteen year old daughter walk in. “ I never knew this day would come!” said Mrs.Park. Alex was surprised by her mom ‘s reaction, she had never been this joyful in her life. Alex knew her mom very well, she was a very serious business woman.
After the graduation, Mrs.Park and Mr.Park held a party at their company. Alex felt something fishy going on with her parents. Suddenly Mr.Park appeared right in front of her. “Alex, I know you're my only child and the heir to our company.” At that moment, Alex's heart started to run all over the place. “I’m giving you the company and you better make me proud,” he said in a low, deep, voice. Soon enough Mr.Park left, Alex was standing alone in the long, dark hallway. Out of nowhere the fluffy cloud appeared right in front of Alex. “You have a long way to learn and you’ll face challenges up ahead; be careful Alex” said Hope. Alex jumped up and snapped out of her thoughts. Hope gave her a smile and soon disappeared into thin air. Alex thought she was seeing things at first, then a boy around her age walked in with an evil smirk. Lucas Lockhart, the most spoiled, evil, mean, and powerful guy in the city. His company was top in our state. Lucas walked towards Alex with an evil smile. Alex felt like crawling into an over-sized black hole. “Dad handing you the company huh? Well newsflash, your company will go down!” Alex felt like a boiling pot of water. She thought about what Hope said. Lucas's smile went from wide to an evil smirk. Her mind was racing with Hope’s words like a thousand of ants running around. Lucas turned around, walking back to the party when she stopped him by her words. “You may be powerful and strong but you can’t tear me and my company down” she said with enough confidence, he walked away laughing.
Days later after the party, Alex and her dad were at his office, which would one day be hers. She went from a carefree teen to a business woman. At first she was nervous since she was going face challenges. Knock! Knock! Knock! “Come in!” said Alex in a polite way. Her assistant told Alex someone was here to see her. Lucas walked in while Alex was checking out emails. Finally Alex looked forward with a confused look. She wondered why he was here, but all she had to do was act professional. Mr.Park stepped aside while looking at Alex. She soon noticed what she had to do. Alex sat up straight like a skyscraper. Whole silence filled the room. “How may I help you today, Mr.Lockhart?” Mr.Park knew something was about to be spilled. Lucas wanted to take over her company, but if she refused he would run over her plans and ruin her dreams. After he said that, he left and never came back. Mr. and Mrs.Lockhart had dinner with Mrs. and Mr.Park that evening. Alex didn’t even dare to go, she worried so much she fell asleep in her bed.
One year later on a fresh, sunny spring morning, the smell of newly open flowers caught Alex's attention by heart. Alex had forgotten about Lucas, and her parents got into a sticky argument with the Lockhart’s. A vibration came like a thousand bolts from her front pocket. It was a news media report about the Lockhart company. It looked alarming. Alex read the whole article in shock. It was Lucas with a new plan. It was the same plan as Alex was working on for the past year. Alex felt a warm droplet over her soft cheek. “Come on Alex you’re stronger than that!” A familiar voice was heard in the distance of the silent park. Alex looked around but no one was around only the sound of her heart beat. Then she remembered the only person she could get scared of when she appeared. It was Hope. This time Alex didn’t jump, she stood tall and hopeful with a listening ear. “Sometimes life is about risking everything for a dream no one can see but you.” After a moment Alex thanked Hope for everything and once again Hope faded away. A strong breeze hit Alex like a ton of bricks bringing hope to her. Alex ran and ran. She never stopped until she got to her office. Alex soon had a plan and called in for an emergency meeting. Alex took it to the public hours later. Moments ago she was hopeless now she was standing in front of a stage with people surrounding it. This was Lucas's stage until she took over. All Alex had to say is “Don’t be trapped in someone else’s dream.”
